A Registered Nurse specializing in foot care, Debbie Fleming attends to clients who are suffering from a variety of common foot-related ailments. Problems such as calluses, corns, and painful in-grown toenails can limit a client's activities and enjoyment of life. As a Registered Nurse, Debbie performs a thorough lower extremity exam that includes evaluating foot circulation, sensation, edema, and risk for future foot ailments. She also takes the time to discuss her exam findings with the client and educates and empowers them to understand the factors that resulted in their existing conditions.

In consultation with a team of healthcare professionals (including podiatrists), Debbie develops realistic and manageable treatment and maintenance plans that improve client mobility and decreases the risk of developing further complications that could lead to disability or amputation. Healthy feet are essential to continued mobility and independence. A proactive plan can help reduce risk, pain, and discomfort.

In addition to directly treating clients, Debbie has presented at educational foot care nursing forums in the United States and assists and acts as an educational resource for various U.S. physician-led foot care workshops.

Please note: following current best nursing practice guidelines, foot care nurses provide an essential and professional nursing service. They do not provide pedicures.
